- Overall she has taken over 500 additional hours of training in addition to her Veterinary degree to be able to provide you and your pet with the latest educational advancements in alternative Veterinary medicine.

Background on Dr. Browne
Dr. Kristin Browne was born and raised in Fairport, NY. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from William Smith College in Geneva, NY. In high school and college she was an avid soccer and basketball player. This experience opened her eyes to the benefit of physical fitness and therapy.
Her sport and fitness background, along with her desire to help animals, sparked a need to combine both passions and develop a unique Veterinary rehabilitation clinic.

Dr. Browne graduated from Kansas State University, College Of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded the 'Gentle Doctor' Award by her classmates. She worked as a small animal practitioner at Brighton Animal Hospital and then followed her dream to focus on Veterinary rehabilitative, fitness and wellness services.
Dr. Browne is a part time instructor at the Healing Oasis Center of Canada, in their Animal Chiropractic Certification Program. She also gives lectures and presentations on Small Animal Rehab, Chiropractic and Acupuncture locally and regionally.
Dr. Browne lives with her husband, Dana, and their daughter Mckenzie, on their farm appropriately named 4 Paws Farm with their 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses and 2 goats. In her spare time, she loves to train her dogs for agility, and is working towards eventing her young Thoroughbred, Sirius.

Dana
Dana is Dr. Browne's husband and TheraVet Acres business manager. He shares his wife's compassion for helping animals. A graduate of Virginia Tech's College of Engineering, he has successfully managed two of his own businesses. He has an interest in the environment and currently works as a Senior Engineer for Product Recovery Management in Durham, NC.
PRM designs and fabricates equipment for remediating contaminated soil and groundwater.
Kristin and Dana met while both were working in Durham, NC. Their newly adopted puppies brought them together at the dog park at Duke University over 10 years ago. In his spare time Dana enjoys remodeling 4 Paws Farm's 1860 farm house and helping to keep TheraVet Acres running smoothly.

Cheri
Cheri has been a part of the TheraVet team since April, 2008. She is the office manager and runs the front desk. Cheri has 25 years of experience in various office settings, including owning her own business, as well as in computer systems, and as a copy-editor. She is often the first voice you hear as our Front Desk Receptionist. She is working with the bookkeeping, computer-systems, training & procedures, and will also act as an assistant for Dana Browne, Business Manager, when needed.
Cheri grew up in Penfield, NY, and spent time in NYC, New Hampshire, even Alaska, before returning to the Rochester area to settle down. With Django Reinhart, a 75-lb husky-shepherd-Rottweiler mix, she now lives in Ontario, NY, enjoying the sense of being home once again.

Kerri
Kerri has been with TheraVet since Aug of 2009. She is currently our full time Veterinary Technician. Kerri attended SUNY Canton, graduating in 2003 with an AAS Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in both small animal and equine practices for nearly 14 years.
Outside of work Kerri enjoys conditioning for/competing in Endurance and Competitive Trail with her Arabian gelding. Her family consists of her husband Patrick, two Arabian geldings- Sprite and Stone, two dogs- Rottweiler/Lab female- Vedda, and Yellow Lab- Bosco, and her Mini Rex rabbit- Soup.

Felicia
Felicia has been at TheraVet since Dec. 2008 and is currently working as Dr. Browne’s assistant and Canine Care manager. She graduated from Nazareth College with a BS in Art Education. The experience of caring for her late dog, Samantha, led her to seek out working with other animals in need. She has been a foster parent to many animals including the infamous three legged black lab, Sammy. Felicia recently adopted a young border-collie mix, Norah, and has two cats, Charlie and Velvet, who were both adopted from Lollypop Farm.
Outside of work Felicia spends her time working out, hiking, painting, and visiting with family and friends.

Elisabeth
Elisabeth has been working at TheraVet since Aug of 2007. She is TheraVet's technician assistant and volunteer coordinator. She has 4 dogs, Artie, Abby, Otto and Taco, a rehab dog, who joined her crew permanently last year. She also has a number of cats- Leo, her favorite, is an orange tabby.
Elisabeth has always loved to be around and care for animals, and has volunteered with various rescue, foster, and spay/neuter clinics in the area. She currently works part-time as a veterinary assistant for VSR/Animal Emergency Service; she has been an assistant there for 8 years. Elisabeth is also a Licensed Massage Therapist with an additional Certification in Canine Massage. She has a B.A. from Davis and Elkins College, and a background in working in health care and education, where creative modalities were often involved in an individual’s care plan. She is currently working towards her Vet Tech degree and licensure.
She loves to spend time outside and to be by the water (especially at her family’s cottage in Canada-- bringing the dogs makes it twice as fun). She also likes to work in the garden, sing and play the guitar when she can, and work on any kind of creative project.

Gina
Gina has been with TheraVet since April of 2009. She is currently our part-time Veterinary Technician. She has a B.S. in Biology from Nazareth College of Rochester. Additionally, in the summer of 2005, she received an Applied Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Alfred State College.
In her spare time she loves to swim and hike. When she has the opportunity she is eager to scuba dive. Gina has a dog named Romulus, a 60 pound mixed breed who enjoys walks and swimming. Together they enjoy going for walks in parks and spending time with the rest of the family.

Erica
Erica has been with TheraVet since Aug of 2009. She is currently working as a part-time technician assistant. She has worked in a wellness center assisting chiropractors and massage therapist, in giving people chiropractic care, nutritional value, and other wellness services. In 2009 she went back to school to receive a certificate in veterinary assisting, and is using her knowledge and compassion for helping others, towards helping animals. She plans on pursuing her education in veterinary science and continue to help and care for animals.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and her two dogs Toby and Pee Wee.

Wendy
Wendy has been with TheraVet since June of 2009. She is currently a part-time receptionist. She has worked in the veterinary medical field for over 20 years. She also worked at Strong Memorial Hospital for 2 years.
She attended William Woods University in Fulton, MO, where she majored in Equestrian Science and Business. Wendy also lived in Las Vegas, NV, for 2 years where she had the opportunity to work for Wayne Newton, taking care of his brood mares and foals.
She lives in Webster, NY with her 3 corgis (Penn-E-Blue, Boomer, Julep), 1 sheltie (Nittany), 2 cats (Pumpkin and Socks), and 3 retired show horses (Lady, Jean, and Happy). She started showing horses at the age of 9 and throughout her show career won many national titles.
When not working at TheraVet, or taking care of her animals, she enjoys going to the RPO and spending time with family and friends. Wendy also enjoys going to dog shows to watch her mom compete and is an avid fan of Penn State Football.

Ruth
Ruth has been with TheraVet since May of 2009. She is currently a part-time Canine Care Provider. Ruth got her first dog at age 10, and started working with dogs at age 13 when she walked her neighbor’s dog for two dollars a day for over a year. At 14 she raised a guide-dog puppy for Upstate Guide Dogs and joined 4-H. When Upstate Guide Dogs closed in 2005, she bought the puppy she’d been raising and turned her attention to 4-H. She competed at State Fair and other 4-H dogs shows from then till summer 2009. She placed a total of three times at State level, one grand champion and two reserve champions in grooming and handling, and rally obedience. Now that she is officially too old for 4-H, she’s turning her focus to earning various titles with her dogs in rally, obedience, agility, and flyball. All three of her dogs have their Canine Good Citizen award, and two are therapy dogs. She is currently attending Monroe Community College majoring in humanities and social sciences.

TheraVet Acres
TheraVet Acres is located on 30 beautiful acres in Penfield, NY. It is also known as 4PawsFarm and is the home of Dr. Browne, her husband Dana, and their numerous animals. This setting allows us to provide you and your pet with the love and attention you both deserve.

Our vision when creating TheraVet Acres was to provide a place where people and their pets could come to find compassionate care and a sense of belonging in a home-away from home environment. When you arrive at TheraVet Acres, you will most likely be greeted by our family of dogs and will be treated with kindness and understanding.
