Canine and Feline ServicesIndividualized Treatment PlansEach pet will receive a full physical examination by a Veterinarian prior to having a treatment plan designed for them. Your goals for treatment will be addressed during your first appointment and will be updated as the rehab progresses. Therapy may include one or multiple modalities to achieve these goals. This occurs primarily through stimulation of the central nervous system. This stimulation releases neurotransmitters, such as endorphins and serotonins, into the bloodstream, helping to reduce pain and provide relaxation. While many dogs who board here need one-on-one care due to their physical restrictions, other pups prefer our Home-away-from-home boarding to large group play facilities. Here, all dogs get four potty walks a day, their own meals made up according to owner instructions, two 15 minute enrichment activities with our highly trained canine care providers, and lots of individual love and attention. Each dog is walked individually so mobility and urination/defecation can be closely monitored. Therapy dogs have their activities catered to reflect their current therapy plan. We have green pasture to romp in on or off leash, wooded trails to sniff, and a land treadmill for use when it is just too cold or rainy. We keep a low 6:1 pup to canine care provider ratio to ensure the care, health and safety of all of our boarders.

By observing the subtleties of the patients΄ posture, stance, gait and behavior, the certified doctor can locate and correct subluxations; restoring normal nerve function and improving the patients΄ overall health and well-being.<br><br>Since the nervous system is the governing system in the body, its synergy with the rest of the body is vital to the general health of the animal. Chiropractic adjustments allow the nerves, which run throughout all organs, to communicate optimally with the brain and the rest of the body. Hydrotherapy for dogs via an aquatic treadmill is used in the treatment of many ailments including arthritis, orthopedic, post surgical, degenerative and neurological conditions. The UWTM can also help with general convalescence, obesity and fitness training.<br><br>Water resistance while walking or trotting helps to build muscle mass, strengthen limbs, and provide a significant cardiovascular workout. An important additional benefit of this treatment method versus traditional hydrotherapy, is that the variables (speed, resistance, and depth of water) can be controlled which can yield a consistently progressive therapy plan.<br><br>Additionally, our UWTM unit is equipped with aquatic jets which are utilized in the tank to stimulate increased blood flow and nerve development. The jets deliver a massaging action to the dog`s limbs to ensure maximum benefits for rehabilitation and conditioning. These jets can also be used to aid in conditioning for the athletic or performance dog to increase the intensity of their workout while swimming in the tank or utilizing the treadmill.<br><br>Geriatric, post-surgical and obese animals can exercise without injury for longer periods of time in the UWTM than they can on land.
