Future of TheraVet
The future for TheraVet is very exciting. We have recently purchased the property to the west of the clinic and are developing plans for building our new facility. This facility will be a totally green "Net Zero" building, built with the environment in mind. At a minimum, it will utilize solar, wind, geothermal and water reclamation technologies. It will allow for more boarding suites, a pool and an indoor therapy and training arena, and more space to accommodate a second doctor and more therapy staff and equipment. This expansion will allow us to help more pets which is something that TheraVet strives to do on a daily basis.
Adobe Fund
Marc and Jen Romano established the Adobe Fund in honor of their beloved golden retriever named Adobe. With their generous seed contributions, we can now make available a selection of harnesses, booties, exercise equipment, exercise videos, and more, for dogs to try out. We continue to research various types of equipment for dogs who are recovering from surgery, injuries, or who have special needs in their old age so that your dog can "Try before you buy." The current exercise room of Theravet is dedicated to Adobe; a beautiful dedication hangs on the wall for all to admire when they come in for their pet's appointment.
Please consider donating any gently used equipment that you found useful for your own dog, so that others can try things out as well.
Little Man Fund
We maintain a "fund" of services that we donate to dogs/clients who are struggling to afford therapy. This Fund began with the donation by Little Man's owner of the balance of the funds that she had raised for her own pup's therapy after he passed away. Little Man was a boxer puppy that was born with "Swimmer's Syndrome" (Pectus Excavatum). Puppies with swimming puppy syndrome cannot stand up, and their thorax and abdomen are compressed. These pups are unable to walk, and therefore they move by making swimming or snake-like type of movements. It is extremely important to initiate physical therapy as soon as possible for these puppies. Unfortunately for LittleMan his condition was too severe and he passed away. However, thanks to his dedicated owner his spirit lives on thru his fund. We continue to honor her determination to raise money for his therapy by using the Little Man Fund to try to "pay it forward." We accept any donations of either money or unused services from our clients that will subsequently be used to help keep a dog in therapy if their owner is determined, but having extreme difficulty with funding.
